Fame, fortune hmmm dunno if I want all that…
Ha! yeah it sounds conceited but I know I’m good, i don’t need anyone to reinforce my opinion of myself but it sure makes me happy when I can inspire and be appreciated for what I do. If I wasn’t an artist I’d still want to inspire and be appreciated but being an artist fits my personality and it seems the best fit for me. One of the things that goes along with aspiring to be a great artist is the option of fame and fortune but I don’t think it would make me a better artist.
I watched a Tupac documentary recently, not because I’m a fan of his music (haven’t really heard enough of it to have an opinion yet) but because fame was an option he chose, just like John Lennon in another documentary I watched recently to inspire me from my temporary non-tangible creative phase. I, like the two greats in the documentaries, am educated, would like to affect a positive change and have creativity but my most productive years are ahead of me, unlike John and pac who crammed in so much work in such a short time.
I have a long term plan and big dreams and fame and fortune will not stop those dreams!
Here’s the big new painting I’m working on, you might remember the angel from a previous sketch, but this painting has almost life sized figures! My plans include doing a Sistine chapel sized mural one day you know, so i have to work on my scale!
Angel saves falling girl, pencil and charcoal on canvas 42 by 62 inches by Darren Daz Cox
Here’s my Day of the Dead picture I did for the pot luck lunch at work this past week, thanks for whomever voted it the best original artwork!
Dia De Los Muertos art by Darren daz Cox, I live in a town that has a marigold festival, Pekin Illinois, and marigolds are also the flower that is used in the latino day of the dead holiday!
Here is a pencil sketch that i drew on canvas board of some angels that I will paint someday.

and this one, below, is yet another random sketch but based on a real person! i will not reveal her identity but it is called "Hay is for horses" and will be a painting one day!

All art by Darren daz Cox, soon to be ready to paint giant angel murals!
Oh, and for the record, I’m ready for the extra terrestrial ET alien disclosure coming before the end of 2009 as suggested by David Wilcock on Coast to Coast AM recently. I am sooo ready for all these rumored alien civilizations to become a fact of life because that increases my audience a trillion-fold, just think, if they are all basically humanoid if not exactly like us in look, then there would have to be some of them who would like my art! I might get to paint a mural in a spaceship!!! That is what I was born to do, forget fame and fortune, just get me a gig painting a mural on an alien world please!

I am such a big fan of Coast to Coast to and nothing would make me happier than to have the public realize the existence aliens. I miss Art Bell though.
As artists, we’re always seeking to imagine a new and different reality. I just have this kind of faith in the fact that there must be something out there.
I am really liking the angel painting work in progress.
