Ok so most of you will think this is silly, perhaps all of you will, but i don’t care because I won! I now own gobzine.com, again, after register dot com refused to transfer it to godaddy.com who sells domains for five times less. After register refused to transfer my domain name they sold it into spamsite slavery and finally after five long years they gave up and I bought it again for less than ten bucks! sweet!
What the heck is "gobzine", it’s not in the dictionary, not slang or even in google before I used it and with few exceptions just a word unique to me (exceptions include an old polish lady and her family and a French artist – neither of which were in google searches before I thought I had invented the word btw). Essentially you can break it down to Go B Zine (say it "go be seen") but it’s also a pastiche of two punk rock words ‘gob’ ie the act of spitting on the band and ‘zine’ which is slang for DIY (do it yourself) magazines with no censorship. I had planned to have a website version of a punk ‘zine but it didn’t last *sigh*, the name remains however!
I also own darrencox.name, but not darrencox dot com, both of us owners are from the same tiny town in the UK though, synchronicity!
I decided not to renew dazhoney dot com, so soon it will become a spam site. Daz Honey is the name of my avatar in secondlife but I don’t go there very much anymore. I played around with creating things and having virtual art gallery’s and the whole playing a character thing but it’s run it’s course. 2D and 3D digital art has big limitations when you want to let your subconsious out, it’s like writing poetry with a limited vocabulary.
