Actually, I wasn't freaked out by the serendipity at all. Somehow all this meditating and endless syncronicity makes these things seems natural, like we don't freak out when it storms unexpectedly.

Everyday I have synchronous experiences, like when I was writing this post I wandered off randomly on google and found that the day after a Friday May 13 (my very lucky birthday!) the first illustrated journalistic magazine was published (The Illustrated London News) and so being a fan of Victorian art I poked around in the archives and randomly selected a page to read.

The article was about the current American president, John Tyler and a warning about how the Americans should consider the vice president just as carefully as the president when voting just in case, as had recently happened, the vp ended up as the pres by default.

But the next bit really made me smile as it suggested that Henry Clay, the first of the Whigs, was the 'front runner' for the next election. I'd never heard of him but I know a bit about the whigs because of a great punk rock song by Showcase Showdown "Last of the Whigs" for Millard we are millitant! which is the lyric from said song that is on the t-shirt I was wearing when reading that. Coincidence? oh sure yup! The guy made about 30 of these shirts!

Millard Fillmore was the second vp to become pres by default which is a weird coincidence since, like John Tyler he wasn't very popular among his own people in washington let alone the average citizen, at least Dan Quayle was a pretty boy and a yes-man, could you imagine what would happen if Quayle had become the pres by default and Poppy Bush's republicans left his cabinet en masse?

Hell, everyone is seeing ufo's I just figured I was due for a sighting but who ever talks about the whig party???

(dammit - I hit publish before I was finished thinking...)

Despite the fact that I FIRMLY believe that we manifest things in our lives (whether or not we believe that to be true) yet I'm still always a little surprised when something I create actually shows up.
