yea finally done! Oil on canvas with a scandalous hint of irridessent medium for some tiny silver beads!
Wow, I started this last September!!!! There’s a blog post with my original sketch here!
I’ll enter this in the Mood Indigo show at the Art Alliance of Red Bank show coming up in early June!
Tomorrow I’ll be helping the The Shore Institute of The Contemporary Arts move their new (to them) print-making presses to their building, those things are heavy!!!!
Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim grey sands with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses,
We foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances,
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight;
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And is anxious in its sleep,
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a Faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping
then you can understand.
-The Stolen Child
W.B. Yeats, 1889

I LIKE it! The movement in it is gorgeous, and the girl’s costume echoes a moon phase! Gorgeous!
