New oil painting in progress – surreal – wurms -fauns!

This surreal-esque dreamscape is coming along, *note to self* wait until the paint is dry to photograph or you end up with reflecto-artifacts!!!!
I always wanted to be a ‘surrealist’ (in the times when I felt I had to choose a ‘school’ to belong to), but until now nothing materialized.

White wurmicles! The worm motif has been one I’ve worked with for a long long time, perhaps it is a continuation from my childhood drawings of caterpillars but definitly a metaphor for the soul/spiritual evolution.
The beauty of oil paints will allow me to ‘clothe’ the worms with layers of translucent colors, then light will activate the beauty of the colors, which is a metaphor for you and I!!!

This one starts with my ‘standard’ composition, the organic framed center motif! Instead of doing monochrome then layers of oil glazes, this one starts with the colors, rich animal colors, i was thinking of deer fauns, which is what will appear literally between the lines here hehe!
I know, some people would leave this ‘as is’ suggesting ‘less is more’ but I’m not an abstract artist, I’m an artist that uses abstraction for decoration and randomness.
When this is done it should serve the same purpose as an abstract, compliment a room’s color scheme and offer controlled chaos in a peaceful space, but also allow children to see the animals.
Oh, the black dot will either be an eye or a gold-leafed sun!

I love the Wurms..not to be confused with worms…which I hate.
