Sunset Animals – how many can you see?
This is a random Photoshop liquify filter smudge finger digital painting.
I was inspired to sketch the beach as I walked by the tide line as the sun was sinking below the horizon.
I came home and picked Photoshop as a random art tool and then this was the result!
You can download the big size via Flickr (and DeviantArt a little later ) for a desktop pic if you wish (it’s 1200 x900 which should fit any monitor with no quality loss! it might take a while to see all the animals and god knows I could work on this pic for more hours and one day I’ll make a movie where you can see the steps (just about all the animals morphed a dozen times or so hehe!).
If you wish a large print of this please visit my DeviantArt site store where there are 9×12 or 18×24 sizes in different papers available (my first art for sale ever!)
This is a ‘more is more’ picture and while it’s neat to discover all the little animals and the ones your eyes don’t notice at first what is even cooler is when you can see something in the randomness that I didn’t intend to be there, like you can see things in clouds. Being able to give the viewer a way to tap into their subconscious makes me very happy!
Oh and a big mutant bunny thank you to the amazing Mrs.Chili for sending me over to her local NPR site where we discussed "What Is Good Art?", the host read a quote on mine on the air hehe, you can listen to the MP3 of the show and add your comments on there yea!

Darren,
This is one of my favorites.
I see about 5 creatures right off the bat, but it’s like you said, the more you meditate on it, the more you see.
I like it!
I used to stare at the wall when we had wood siding in the bedroom and “see” all these creatures appear. This painting reminds me of that.
I will now check out your link. Thanks.

I’m fond of the little blue cowish-piggy thing in the middle bottom.
I’m glad you had a comment read. I didn’t listen to the show live – I rarely get a chance to listen to the Exchange because of my work schedule – but I’ll go listen on the archive. Anytime anything of local interest comes up that I think my blogging friends might like, I try to give a heads-up. You folks are never far from my thoughts!

Coming here always inspires me!
