the purple effect – and fractal effect!

here the oil painting from the previous post has been photographed outside and then enhanced with the color and saturation tools in Photoshop. I then added some dodge and burn (which darkens and lightens certain areas).
In some ways the picture loses the old fashioned sepia charm of the previous one and becomes far more busy.
Looking at your art in as many ways as you can helps the artist to understand himself I feel.
Below, the painting is fractalized by mirroring in Photoshop. As with all things in nature, when fractalized a unique pattern appears, the art becomes different art….

Daz, I like the top one the best. I like the contrast of the purple and the gold. The part in the middle looks like golden rays of sunlight streaming through a mysterious and ancient purple curtian of some kind. Being able to see the purple really added an interesting depth and perspective.

I have to agree with Wendi here. The first one is my favorite but the mirror one is up there too! It doesn’t hurt that it’s my favorite color too! I love purple!
