vision boards are cool!

Allegory of Mystery I have several cork boards in my apartment (aka my art studio) with pictures from art books and various paper ephemera that inspires me.

The act of arranging art and things helps formulate ideas in my mind, I’m sure Liz beck has some art therapy techniques that involve collage! I think this Facebook app (that extends beyond facebook obviously) is nice artistic tool for artists and especially for people who don’t think they are so artistic but suddenly discover that they do have a sense of composition when they are allowed to rearrange motifs! Maybe you guys would like to make a vision board and share it with us! Mine had (fbefore the app borked..)

"The studio under the eaves" by Henri Matisse, painted at his financial low point it shows a positive future through the window – brilliant!, a chakra diagram to help me meditate and inspire me to think about the infinite potential of reality, madame Grand by LeBrun, one of the most brilliant portraits ever done and one of my faves in the Met, Blow your cool by the Hoodoo Gurus, a cool cd I love!, The reincarnation of Edgar Cayce (book I’m reading, slowly and thoughtfully), Michelangelos Creation of Adam, just to remind me that we are all given the divine power to create and a still from the cool movie ‘The science of sleep’.

This is not the antidote

  1. Darren,

This is a really good idea! I have a bookshelf of inspiring books that I often turn to, but I never thought of having a vision boards. I’m going to start collecting visual things that inspire me.

  2. Daz,

I just read a cool post about vision boards from Cristine Kane. You two are on the same wave length! She sings fun music too!
I’m going to make one when I get back from California.

    Thanks for showing us that!

  3. I occasionally make collages. I don’t know how to do this on facebook though. Is it hard? Man, I have enough stuff I have to learn! Also, let me know about the Edgar Cayce book. It sounds good. Tell me what you think.

I understand about what you are talking about rearranging elements, though. I constantly do that with my camera, walking around a subject and such.

  4. :)

The book The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?: Interdimensional Communication and Global Transformation: Wynn Free, David Wilcock: is pretty fascinating and satisfying in the fact that there is so much actual evidence that supports the premise.

Edgar Cayce was the real deal, he was studied and tested and proved his abilities beyond a shadow of a doubt and he said he’d return in 1998.

David Wilcock had moved to Virginia Beach by 1998(where Cayce said he’d return), and did psychic readings like Cayce (which is why Wynn Free wrote the book) and discovered from the inner voice that helped him in the readings that he was indeed the next incarnation of cayce.

Unbelieving this he set about looking for proof. First of all he looks like Cayce, does readings like Cayce and upon checking an astrology chart it can be seen that David’s birth planets are the closest match to Cayce’s in a 157-year period after Cayce’s death in 1945. The odds of these things being just a coincidence is pretty much close to zero.

But it’s more than just that, Wilcock isn’t doing what Cayce did, he’s getting us ready for the energetic change in the universe that will come about around 2012.

DW ties together all these pieces of science and spirituality to make sense of things with enough common sense to make it not just an exercise in faith. For example, DW explains why there are no ‘missing link species’ fossils that the theory of evolution suggests must exist as we have been told that evolution is a slow gradual process right? Well, the scientific evidence says no and DW explains why.

Here’s what it all boils down to, the earth rotates through different parts of space with different concentrations of energy, that energy literally affects DNA. Quantum physics proves that your intent affects reality so all this hullabaloo about 2012 is going to depend on how many people are thinking one way and how many are thinking another.

  5. My vision board would include the Chinese symbol for gratitude (which, it so happens, I have as a window decal on the back of my little black VW), the chakra image you have, some quotes from my favorite books (and a line I just heard on an episode of ER that says “Happiness takes up space – you’ve gotta make room for it.” That may be my new motto). I’d probably have photos of my family, and a drawing that my oldest did when she was three of three little apples in a row (I’ve framed it and hung it in the living room). I’m inspired more by language than by images, but I find that images often inspire my language, so it works in both directions, I suppose.

I’m still dreaming about going “home,” by the way…

    Much love to you,

    Chili
